Mathias Kohler
(This is a sequel, if you want to read the first part, the link is in the description below)

-x-

You dropped the last of the boxes on top of the table and sighed in relief, stretching your arms out to relieve your aching muscles.
“Is that the last one?”
“Yep!” You laughed as Mathias’ shoulders sagged gratefully, before he collapsed to the floor and lay spread-eagled in the middle of the spacious living room. “Aw, is my big strong man tired after lugging a few boxes around?”
“No, your big strong man is tired after lugging a few million boxes up at least a billion steps. Why do you have so much stuff?”
“If you’d prefer I could take it all back, I wouldn’t want to inconvenience you…”
“No!” He sat bolt upright and glared at you, as if daring you to say another word. “It was hard enough to get you here in the first place, there’s no way I’m ever letting you leave my side again.”
“Ever the romantic aren’t we?” Despite your teasing, his comment brought a light dusting of pink to your cheeks. Kneeling beside your still pouting boyfriend, you planted a gentle kiss on his lips, which he eagerly returned.
After dating for two years and being best friends for almost twice as long, you and Mathias had decided to move in together. Or, more accurately, you had given in to his persistent requests that you become “the queen of the north”. Your agreement had come as quite a shock to him. The Dane had been walking you home after taking you out to a two-year anniversary dinner, and as he’d bid you goodnight he’d slipped in some comment or another about how “this would be easier if home was the same place, you should just move in with me already”, but instead of laughing and dismissing him as you frequently did, you’d shrugged your shoulders and answered with a simple “sure”. The look of surprise on his face had been priceless. Gone was the arrogant grin, instead replaced by a blank gaping expression with his beautiful blue eyes widened in shock. You’d suddenly felt a wave of uncertainty; perhaps the requests had become habit and he didn’t really want to move in with you at all. However, the blond had pulled you into a passionate kiss, and attacked your ears with excited exclamations of “are you serious!?” and “you’re not messing with me right!?” letting you know instantly that you’d made the right decision. So it was that only a week later, you had finished ferrying your possessions up to Mathias’ high-rise apartment (he’d wanted you to move immediately, before you could change your mind).
You pulled away from the kiss to find yourself locked firmly in your lover’s embrace, with him staring adoringly at you.
“What?”
“You’re just incredible, you know that?”
“You’re not so bad yourself.” You winked at him and gained a chuckle in reply, but his gaze didn’t waver.
“No but really. You’re just so…” He shook his head disbelievingly and chuckled again. “How did I get lucky enough to end up with you?”
“I’m relatively sure it had something to do with breaking into my house so frequently that it became normal.”
“Well now I won’t have to break in, because you’re already here.”  His lips found yours again and you melted into the kiss. However when you felt his hands creeping underneath the hem of your shirt, you pulled away, one eyebrow raised.
“We still have to unpack the boxes you know.”
“Ugggh.”

You were halfway through unpacking your clothes when you realised it was oddly quiet, and had been for some time. When calling your boyfriend’s name yielded no response, you wandered through the silent apartment with a suspicious frown. Upon entering the living room where Mathias was supposed to be unpacking your dvd collection and organising it with his own, you found a wall of cardboard boxes.
“Mathias what the hell are you doing?”
“__________! Do you like it?”
“It’s great. Really I am thrilled that you have found the time to build a fort in the middle of your apartment but-” You squealed as two strong arms wrapped around you from behind and lifted you up, spinning you around the room before throwing you over the fort wall and onto the sofa within.
“It’s our apartment, remember?”
“Jeez don’t scare me like that! I thought you were in the fort-thing!” Suddenly he had vaulted over the wall and was knelt over you on the sofa.
“Well yeah, that was the point.” He grinned as you slapped him lightly, failing to hold a stern expression in light of his childish excitement. Instead of anger, you opted for pouting, in which you were a little more successful.
“How very cruel, I though you wanted me here and yet all you’re interested in is creating a fort.”
“Come on babe don’t be like that.” He nuzzled your hair softly, making you smile. “What’s a fort if you’ve got no-one to share it with?”
“You’re coming up with all the cheesy lines today aren’t you?” Before he could answer, you hooked your leg around his waist and toppled him over onto the floor, not counting on his reactions being quick enough to bring you down with him. As it turned out, the two of you ended up in a heap on the carpet of pillows which Mathias undoubtedly stole from the other rooms to make his fort more comfortable. Propping yourself up on your elbows, you noticed you were now sprawled out across a familiar broad chest.
"That was for building the fort without me.” You smirked down at the slightly disgruntled blond.
"You do realise I’m going to have to get revenge for that?”
“I figured as much.” Almost as soon as the words had left your lips, Mathias assaulted your sides with his fingertips, tickling you until you were reduced to a squealing mess of limbs and could do nothing but beg him to stop between gasps for breath. Eventually he relented and lay beside you, leaving you to wheeze in his arms.
When you’d finally regained your breath you rolled over to face him with a radiant smile, and his smile only grew in response. The two of you remained in silence for a while, just basking in each other’s warmth and the peace the fort provided by hiding the two of you away from the rest of the world. In the end, you felt the need to speak, as something which had been drifting around the back of your mind finally fell into place.
“Hey Mathias.”
“Hm?” You took a deep breath, preparing yourself for what you were about to say.
“You’re a complete dork.”
“Um, thanks?”
“Shut up and listen to me.” With a cheeky grin, he mimed zipping his lips closed and then motioned for you to continue. “You’re a complete dork, but just being around you makes me inexplicably happy. I’m pretty sure I’ve known this for a while, and I think you know it too, but… I’m just going to say in anyway.” His blue eyes softened when you paused, prompting you to go on. “Mathias Kohler, I love you.”
It felt good to finally say it. He’d gone from being ‘that-guy-with-crazy-hair’, to ‘that-guy-with-crazy-hair-who-you-kind-of-had-a-crush-on’, to ‘that-guy-with-crazy-hair-who-you-kind-of-had-a-crush-on-and-who-kind-of-had-a-crush-on-you-so-therefore-you-were-in-a-mutual-relationship-thing’. Even though that had happened over the span of four years, your feelings seemed to have developed remarkably fast, and at first it had scared you a little. You’d asked yourself time and time again if you were really “in love” with him, or if you were just in love with the idea of being in love. Somehow, all it took to make certain of your feelings was for this idiotic boyfriend of yours to throw you into his makeshift fort.
“I love you too.”
Those words brought you out of your stupor and you couldn’t help but laugh quietly at the utter adoration which filled his blue eyes. There was a time when, if someone had asked you “how do you think Mathias would tell someone he loved them?” you would have probably written a book about how the eccentric male would profess his undying love to his victim. Now you realised how wrong you would have been. The simplicity of his tone as he uttered those words while twirling the fine strands of your hair between his fingertips was more than enough. All you needed was the honestly and love which he gladly showered you in every day. And when you looked back into Mathias’ eyes, you knew he felt the same way about you.

Bleh~ take my fluffy... thing
I honestly don't know where this came from, but I just really really wanted to write for Mathias? So I did a sequel. I'm sorry it's really sappy and mushy and so full of gushy, but once i started typing I just couldn't stop. I wrote this in the space of an hour or two, but it took me almost an entire /month/ to write the latest chapter of 'To Sail the High Seas'.
Go figure
Regardless, I hope you enjoy the fluff, tell me what you think!

Disclaimer: I do not own Hetalia or the characters used/mentioned in this story (the plot line's mine though). You belong to yourself... or possibly Mathias.
